Course Offerings

KDA incorporates different courses of training in all classes. A typical karateka (student of karate) goes through all these courses from white to black belt.

For your own safety and well-being, check with your physician before engaging in any strenuous physical activity.

Basic Course

The Basic or Beginner's Course is available for all ages and fitness levels. This course is designed to introduce you to the basic skills of Karate. The course covers basic terminology, basic etiquette, safety, physical conditioning, basic blocks, stances and strikes. Participants will also be taught how to employ acquired skills in simulated practical situations.

Progressive Course

Participants who successfully complete the Basic Course are promoted to the Progressive Course. The course is composed of training programs that are designated by different colored belts. It focuses on a myriad of topics such as defense methodology, biomechanics, tactics and strategy. The gradual introduction of competition-style sport Karate is also one of the features of this learning level.

Advanced Course

The pace at which Advanced students go through the four (4) levels of this training and learning program depend on individual learning and athletic merits. The Advanced Course encourages participants to integrate learning skills towards a conscientious, honorable approach to every detail of everyday life.

Competitive Course

esigned for the discerning Karate athlete. The Competitive Course training and development programs are the ones used to develop promising Karate athletes and features the same syllabus used to train the Philippine National Karate Team.
